Diana has been wonderful to our golden doodle, Ellie. She’s accommodating with appointment scheduling and pick up times. Prices are very reasonable. Ellie is always happy and looks great after grooming. Highly recommend!
I took my Lab/Akbash dog to The Ugly Pug for a shampoo & nail clipping. I had phoned prior to the appt. to see the cost. I was told 40.00. When I phoned to see it my dog was ready to be picked up, I asked again how much will it be? The girl told me 35.00 but I thought she had said 25.00. I went to pick up my dog and was told 35.00; I said no some person told me 25.00. The girl said if that's what you were told then that's what it is. I paid 25.00. When I got home I realized the dog's nails hadn't been cut. A few hours later the owner called and very rudely said I guess we have a misunderstanding here. I told her what I thought had been quoted to me and said his nails haven't been cut anyways, so I guess we're even. Then she threatened me and said it would come out of the groomer's wages and never to bring my dog back again, also lying to me saying that 'she' had cut his nails! I did go and pay the10.00, but only for the younger working girl to be paid something. I have heard other negative comments confirming my story from a nail groomer at a pet store about the owner of The Ugly Pug.
This place lived up to it's name. We brought our dog in for a grooming and we honestly were not sure if they gave us the right dog when he was returned to us. He was unrecognizable. He went from being a Westie to an ugly pug in a matter of hours. It will forever be our best family joke, but you might want to avoid this groomer if that kind of thing isn't all that funny to you.
Always great experience with our dogs, we come only about 2 times a year for grooming and day care (one German shepherd and a pug terrier mix who requires hair cuts) and they have a great time and is always a pleasure going to see Christine and the staff.
My mother and I called the Ugly Pug about doggy daycare for a few hours for our two Teacup Yorkies. When we arrived, there was an overwhelming smell of dog and multiple large dogs loose in the waiting area. They said they had separate space for the smaller dogs. There were multiple staff in the premises. It was in an industrial complex. When we returned, we found both dogs caged, together in the grooming area and only one staff member on duty. It was only 2:30 in the afternoon when we returned, the dogs were there for about 2 to 2 and a half hours total. When I asked where all the staff were, we were told that they had all left for the day and that she was responsible for closing up. It was pretty early in the day still as their sign indicates they are open until 6pm. She claimed she had only put them in the cage for about 10 minutes. We left and my dog has been throwing up, has the runs and is feverish ever since and appears dehydrated and my mothers dog had blood coming from his penis. Both will be attending the vets office today.
