Very pleased with all aspects of the service. No, hiring a plumber is NOT inexpensive -- but their rates are competitive and within general industry standards, and were actually less expensive than some of their competition.The call was answered promptly by a PERSON (not voicemail or a dozen rings before going to an old 1980's cassette tape answering machine). Basic details were taken and I was told the manager/plumber would call back shortly. Indeed I don't think it was 15 mins before he called back. Job was scheduled for the next day. The plumber assigned to the job was here 30 mins after the scheduled time -- which I have no problem with, and I feel is acceptable and standard with various trades that I have dealt with over the years. I don't expect them here "on the dot," as it were, and personally I would prefer 10 - 30 mins AFTER the assigned time than earlier. He phoned before heading over just to confirm that I was still available and to let me know that he would be here in 10 or 15 mins.The plumber (I feel badly that I now don't remember his name -- I am bad with names) was extremely personable and friendly, neat and professional in appearance and work habits. I very much enjoyed the conversation with him. He explained and showed what the problem was/where the leak was coming from, and I left him to fix it. Also had him look at another plumbing issue that I was concerned about and it speaks well of the plumber/company as he COULD have said work was required when, in fact, it wasn't. He was honest and straightforward in explaining why he didn't think it was necessary to spend the money on the extra work. He explained, and I did not realize this to be the case, that SOME larger plumbing companies have plumbers working on commission (or partial commission) and they may be more inclined to "up sell" and recommend work that isn't really (or at all) necessary. I have indeed experienced this with another local plumbing company.I will definitely call Bruce Maly Plumbing again should I need their services. I understand Bruce may not be too far off from retirement, and I hope that the good name that he has built up for himself/company will continue into the future.
Respond quickly and have provided good service. Receptionist is pleasant to deal with. Their plumbers that we've dealt with are professional and explain things well.
