We rented a home in Peterborough after i left the military in 2014. Put in one claim due to theft of personal property from my vehicle one third of the cost to replace items was given to us. We purchased a home in 2016 and was told by State Farm it's beneficial and we'll also lower our rates if we get a home inspector. Payed the inspector made all of our payments on time to the company. First winter in the home we end up with a leaking roof. State Farm sends a roofer to the house to inspect the damages, the roofer shows up without a ladder to even get on the roof and reports back after only visually inspecting 10% of the roof. Then receive a letter in the mail from State Farm stating regular wear and tear, I reply back saying it's a 10 year old home with a steel roof doesn't make sense. I receive another letter from State Farm stating poor craftsmanship. We were not covered for a leaking roof or any damages caused. Home inspector isn't at fault or insurance company we then receive another letter stating that State Farm will not be renewing our home insurance due to the amount of claims since 2014 which are two the stolen property and the leaking roof which the insurance company walked away from and left us hanging mid February. When we applied for mortgage insurance / life insurance my wife was accepted I was denied. 28 year old, ex military, medically released and on LTD due to my injuries received serving my country. Was told politely it was because I'm basically a suicide risk and to re-apply when I'm a bit older. Apparently 26 - 33 year old ex military Canadians are suicide risk. Brian Mulligan has tried to help with my renewal, but he has failed. Received a, Commandant's coin on behalf of my honesty and integrity in the Canadian Forces I stand behind what I have said and throw my coin on the table for anyone to prove me wrong. This company is a scam and I recommend a lawyer be present when you apply for insurance through Brian Mulligan's office in Peterborough Ontario.
