The room was beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff and company were very kind and accommodating of the fact that we needed to store our things earlier than the typical check-in time and enter at 2am later that night (we were in town for a wedding). Overall wonderful experience. The only drawback of staying in a beautiful old house was the lack of air conditioning, but we hardly thought anything of it.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Regina the owner was delightful and we had very comfortable and peaceful night. We were looking for a B&B after awful experience in the town staying in the hotels during hockey tournaments. We will be back here and would recommend.
I delivered a fridge there. Its a beatiful home
It's under new ownership and needs a little refreshing but the house is clean, and built in 1906 it's truly grand with a history. There are 2 large suites with sitting areas and some smaller but sizable cozy rooms. The rates are reasonable and the food is good and I will most certainly stay there again when I need a place to stay.
Very friendly, nice rooms good breakfast. The furnishings are a mix of new and pretty old, but overall pleasant. The deep soaker tub is luxurious. Lots of hot water. Room had a queen four post bed with matching bedroom set (high boy, side tables). Several extra blankets for the bed were in the highboy. The room also had a huge built in closet. There was a sofa table with crystal glasses and bottled water along with a teapot and tea set with a nice selection of teas. A kettle was in the sitting area. The sitting area has a couch pull out bed which has probably seen better days. A very small side chair, a table and a coffee table. There was also a small desk and chair. Off the living room there was a good sized balcony with several chairs. The ensuite bathroom has a comfortable counter and sink, two person soaker tub, a good sized shower and toilet. Heated tile floors could be tuned on. The bathroom has a pocket style door. The room was quite clean, and all the linens were immaculate. The room had many windows- a three set next to the bed, and the sitting room was basically all windows and glass block. Where there wasn't windows there were mirrors. Beautiful old fashioned trim work and coffered ceilings.Breakfast is served till 9, though it ran quite a bit later than that. Coffee and tea and fruit water were on offer for drinks. The meal started with fruit salad with yogurt topping. The main meal was an egg, two slices of multi grain toast, two slices of bacon, one slice each of potato, sausage, ham, tomato and orange. There was a loaf cake for dessert.Overall very lovely. These were the few down sides: the pocket door to the bathroom was very difficult to move, requiring some serious pulling. There was nowhere to plug the kettle in except the bathroom because most of the plugs were two pronged. Despite all the windows there really wasn't any view. The garden has been badly neglected. Breakfast service was awkward, the all the rooms arrived close together and we weren't served as couples; only two plates were prepared at a time and they were handed out randomly. It would be nice if breakfast service officially ran to 10, 9 am was a little early for a weekend. While breakfast was presented beautifully, it might be nice to have a little more of each item of hot food, even if it meant less overall offerings. Also, we would have liked more water in the room - tap water in town, while potable, tastes odd. 4 bottles for two people on a hot night wasn't quite enough. Also the floors were incredibly loud - there's no sneaking to the bathroom without disturbing your companion in the night!Overall I would recommend and may stay again. A previous poster said it was under new management, so hopefully they are able to continue to make progress.
